Why Stop Sargassum at Sea?
Sargassum invasions have become a growing ecological and economic crisis in the Caribbean and beyond. The most effective way to limit their devastating coastal impact is to intercept the seaweed before it reaches the shore. That’s exactly what the Sargaboat™ and Sargatrailer™ system is designed to do.

Sargaboat™ – Collecting Sargassum Offshore Before It Reaches the Shore
How the Sargaboat™ Works
The Sargaboat™ is a specially designed vessel that collects sargassum at sea, including open water and along floating barriers. Entirely invented, engineered, and built by our team, it integrates seamlessly with our towing trailer system to ensure continuous and autonomous harvesting.

Performance and Efficiency
One Sargaboat™ operating with a Sargatrailer™ can collect up to 500 m³ of sargassum per day, intercepting as much as 95% of the seaweed before landfall. This system helps prevent beach degradation and protects marine biodiversity.
Built for Real Conditions
The vessel is built for durability and high performance in real ocean conditions. Its design allows for non-stop operations and easy maneuvering, even during heavy sargassum arrivals.
Sargatrailer™ – Safe Transport and Seamless Logistics
Towed Capacity and Flow Optimization
The Sargatrailer™ acts as a secure floating container that follows the Sargaboat™, enabling uninterrupted harvesting cycles. It allows harvested seaweed to be transferred away from the site efficiently, avoiding the logistical and environmental nightmare of coastal collection.

More Than Just a Support Vessel: The Versatile Power of the Sargatrailer™
Beyond its essential role in sargassum collection logistics, the Sargatrailer™ is a fully autonomous, multifunctional workboat. These floating platforms are not just trailers—they are powerful, modular marine units that stay useful even outside the sargassum season.
When seaweed levels are low, the Sargatrailer™ becomes a cost-effective investment rather than idle equipment. It can be used to transport heavy gear (such as booms, nets, fuel, tools, or dive equipment), act as a support barge for coastal maintenance, or serve as a floating base for scientific monitoring and marine biodiversity studies.
Its adaptability makes it the perfect asset for:
- Deploying or retrieving floating booms during the hurricane season
- Hauling water or fuel to isolated locations
- Collecting other marine debris like drifting plastics or nets
- Launching scuba divers or drone teams
- Hosting eco-tourism tours, snorkeling operations, or educational demonstrations
- Serving as a mobile film and photography platform
- Assisting in emergency logistics or coastal restoration
With the Sargatrailer™, your fleet becomes more versatile, your operations more sustainable, and your investment more valuable year-round.
Eco-Friendly and Scalable Design
Modular and robust, the Sargatrailer™ ensures safe transport of collected biomass to designated treatment or recycling areas, enabling sustainable sargassum management.
Designed, Engineered, and Built by Experts
A Concept by Denis Jimenez
Invented by French sailor and marine engineer Denis Jimenez, the Sargaboat™ and Sargatrailer™ system was born from years of ocean navigation, technical design experience, and direct confrontation with the sargassum crisis.
Proven Field Results Since 2019
Deployed first in Mexico in 2019, this system has successfully protected over 700 meters of hotel beachfront. It remains fully operational and effective to this day.
